The Egg
Formed in Oxford, England in the early 1990s, the Egg's first release was the Shopping EP (1995) on independent label Cup of Tea Records. Having been signed by China Records they released the Albumen LP in 1996. In 1998 the follow-up album Travelator was released, produced by Tim Holmes of Death in Vegas. In 2000, the group recorded the theme song to the ITV show At Home with the Braithwaites.
Following Travelator, Cup of Tea (now owned by Warner Music Group) dropped The Egg. In 2004 the band made a return with their new album Forwards, produced by Benji Vaughan and released on Squarepeg Records.
In 2006 The Egg played at The Big Chill, The Glade Electronic Music Festival, Bestival, Fawsley Fayre, The Ragged Hedge Fair, Exeter FSOE, Secret Garden party, Electric Picnic, Manumission, and other events.
The track "Walking Away (Tocadisco Remix)" is featured in the second Citroen C4 commercial.
In 2008 played at Camp Bisco 7 in Mariaville, NY and to many were the highlight of the weekend. In 2008 The Egg contributed the song "Trails and Tribulations" to the Survival International charity album, Songs for Survival. Read more on Last.fm.
